Company Overview: We are a leading EPC company have project in renewable energy sector and ETP,STP,WTP project conducting in PAN India looking for specializing in [electrical contracting, wiring, and the supply of electrical materials and components]. Our expertise spans a wide range of services for our ongoing project required electrical equipment and component, delivering high-quality materials, timely installations, and innovative solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. We are looking for a skilled and experienced Purchase Manager with a strong electrical background to join our team and manage the procurement function.

Job Summary:

The Purchase Manager (Electrical) will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of electrical materials, components, and services needed for the company’s ongoing projects and business operations. The role will involve vendor management, sourcing, purchasing, inventory management, and ensuring that all materials comply with the required standards and specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and hands-on experience working within an electrical contractor or materials supply company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement & Sourcing:
  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process for electrical materials, equipment, and tools required for the company’s projects.
  • Source and negotiate with suppliers of electrical components, cables, switches, circuit breakers, wiring, transformers, and other related products.
  • Identify new suppliers and evaluate their performance based on quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
  • Vendor Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and negotiate favorable terms (pricing, delivery schedules, warranties, etc.).
  • Assess vendor performance, ensuring timely delivery and quality assurance of materials.
  • Regularly review and evaluate suppliers to ensure compliance with company standards and specifications.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Ensure optimum inventory levels of electrical materials to meet project needs without overstocking.
  • Monitor stock movement, manage reordering, and ensure materials are available when required for ongoing projects.
  • Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure efficient stock management.
  • Cost Control:
  • Prepare and manage the procurement budget, ensuring that purchases stay within the allocated financial targets.
  • Implement cost-saving strategies without compromising quality or project timelines.
  • Conduct regular market research to ensure the company is receiving competitive prices and good value for materials.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure all procured materials meet the required industry standards (BS, IEC, UL, etc.) and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with quality control teams to inspect materials upon arrival and ensure they meet project specifications.
  • Project Support:
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to understand material requirements for ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • Expedite material deliveries to meet project schedules and minimize delays.
  • Reporting & Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, including contracts, orders, supplier communications, and invoices.
  • Provide regular reports on procurement activities, inventory levels, cost savings, and vendor performance to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Certifications in Supply Chain Management or Procurement (e.g., CIPS) are a plus.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing in the electrical industry, preferably within an electrical contractor, supplier, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of electrical products, materials, and components (wiring, cables, circuit breakers, transformers, etc.).
  • Experience in managing supplier relationships, inventory control, and cost negotiation.
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and cost management.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record of obtaining favorable terms and pricing.
  • In-depth understanding of electrical materials, industry standards (BS, IEC, etc.), and electrical engineering principles.
  • Proficient in using procurement software and tools, as well as MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with both internal teams and external suppliers.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of industry-specific software tools for procurement and inventory management.
