2009-2011: The Humble Beginnings
Founded in 2009 by Kamlesh Kumar Singh, Group Surya started as Surya Infrastructure with a turnover of ₹5 lakh and a small team. By 2011, Surya Industries was established, led by Akhilesh Kumar Singh, while Bimlaesh Kumar Singh continued to lead Surya Infrastructure. This marked their expansion into grid-connected solar businesses.
2012-2014: The first breakthroughs
In 2012, Surya International was launched, gaining clients like ABB and Sterling Wilson. By 2014, turnover reached ₹14 crore with 40 employees, and the company entered new markets like rooftop solar and solar street lighting. Babita Singh’s vision and empathy shaped the company's culture, emphasizing community involvement and employee well-being.
2015-2017: Expansion and new horizons
The company expanded into the Northeast and diversified into water treatment. By 2017, turnover soared to ₹37 crore with 100 employees. They opened a corporate office in Bhubaneswar and launched a scholarship program for underprivileged students.
2018-2020: Embracing new challenges
Turnover hit ₹100 crore by 2019, with ventures into lithium battery manufacturing and plastic pipes. They opened new factories in Gaya and Coimbatore, entering the EV charging business.
2021-2023: A Legacy of Innovation
By 2023, turnover reached ₹300 crore. The company expanded into the hydrogen business and fintech with the MoneyMela P2P lending platform. GroupSurya initiated employee wellness programs, ensuring holistic growth.
The Future: A Vision beyond the horizon
Group Surya aims for a ₹500 crore turnover by 2024 and ₹900 crore by 2026, driven by innovation, sustainability, and the combined leadership of Kamlesh Kumar Singh, Babita Singh, Akhilesh Kumar Singh, and Bimlaesh Kumar Singh.
